What do you do when your block drops 8 metres from front to back — and another 3 metres from side to side?
You don't fight the block.
You design with it.
This South Bunbury site presented a significant challenge, but it also offered something special — elevation, outlook and the opportunity to create a home that worked with the natural contours of the land.
Rather than trying to flatten the site and force a conventional house onto it, John McInerney designed the home around the levels of the block.

The final design steps down with the site, creating different levels, carefully considered views and a strong connection between the living areas and the surrounding landscape.
The result is a home where the difficult site isn't something you notice as a problem.
It's what makes the home unique.
With more than 40 years of experience designing homes, John looks beyond the floor plan — considering the slope, orientation, access, views, natural light and how the home will actually sit on the land.
Because sometimes the most challenging blocks create the most interesting homes.
